Statement of Society Principles
Advancing the healing arts through technology is not an isolated
discipline. To that end, the BioMedical Engineering Society
is open to all persons wishing to learn more about the state
of the art, regardless of background. More important to our
mutual success is imagination and a yearning to explore pertinent
science "in and out of the box," through democratic
and fraternal processes.
For questions regarding the society, please contact
If
you are interested in the BioMedical Engineering program
of the University of South Florida, you are urged to contact
William E. Lee, PhD for further information regarding scholastic
requirements, research, and funding. Current research has
centered on six broadbased areas of concern - rehabilitation
medicine, orthopedics, biotransport processes, bioinformatics,
bioinstrumentation/logic/programming, medical imaging. As
a result of the interdisciplinary nature of this work, students
can be seen in such diverse research areas as Moffitt Cancer
Center, Shriner's Burn Hospital, The Veteran's Adminstration
hospital, etc. We hope to see you at one of our meetings.
